What happened
Cursor's pricing page on Oct 27, 2026 lists Free, Plus $8, Premium $30, Super $100, Ultra $200, Teams from $30 per user and Enterprise; in August it listed Pro $20, Pro+ $60 and Ultra $200.
Why it matters
Usage is sold as multiples of a Grok only Plus tier, and third party models are billed separately by usage on top of Premium, Super and Ultra.
What to do
Re-run your seat math and add a third party model usage estimate before standardizing on Cursor.

Verdict: Cursor stays conditional, and the condition is now sharper. The cursor.com/pricing page we read on October 27, 2026 sells usage as multiples of an $8 Plus tier, limits Plus to Grok models, and bills third party models separately by usage on the paid tiers above it. Budget for the base price plus your model bill, not the base price alone.

  • Plus ($8): a shared AI usage pool covering Cursor plus Grok Chat, Voice, Imagine and Build. The page states "Only Grok models are available on this plan".
  • Premium ($30): marked "Most popular", "4x more usage compared to Plus", with cloud agents, automations, and code hosting with AI code reviews.
  • Super ($100): "15x more usage compared to Plus", with priority model access at peak times.
  • Ultra ($200): "50x more usage compared to Plus", with earliest access to all products and models.
  • Third party models: on Premium, Super and Ultra the page says "3rd party models are available in Cursor, billed separately by usage".

Our August 2026 pricing coverage listed Pro at $20, Pro+ at $60 and Ultra at $200. The Pro $20 and Pro+ $60 names are gone, and Ultra at $200 is now defined as 50x Plus usage. We know the page changed since that coverage, not the day it was rebuilt, so we do not date the change.

Why it matters

  • The headline price is not the bill. Plus at $8 is Grok only. Want Claude, GPT or any other third party model? That usage is metered on top of Premium, Super or Ultra.
  • Heavy use climbs fast. The jump from 4x to 15x usage is a jump from $30 to $100 a month per person.
  • Ownership context. SpaceX closed its Cursor acquisition: Cursor's own blog announced on August 14, 2026 that "Cursor has officially been acquired by SpaceX". The Grok first Plus tier fits that ownership.

The editor is still the most polished AI editing loop we track. That is why the rating holds at conditional rather than dropping.

What changes for you

  • Re-run your seat math against Plus, Premium, Super and Ultra before standardizing on Cursor.
  • Price your model mix separately. If your team depends on non Grok models, add a usage estimate on top of the plan price.
  • Check old quotes. Any internal budget or vendor comparison that cites Pro $20 or Pro+ $60 is out of date against this page.
