FLUX 3

Black Forest Labs · Released Jul 2026

Conditional

FLUX 3 is Black Forest Labs' first unified multimodal foundation model — a single architecture jointly trained on image, video, audio, and action prediction. It generates 20-second video clips with native synchronized audio, beating Runway Gen-4.5 by 77% and Luma Ray 3.2 by 93% in vendor-reported preference tests, and its FLUX-mimic variant is already deployed on Audi production lines for soft-body manipulation. But three of four components remain unreleased (only Video and Action are in gated early access), no pricing has been published, no independent benchmarks exist, and open-weight FLUX 3 Dev won't ship until later 2026. Conditional: groundbreaking architecture with real-world robotics validation, but not yet a product you can buy or independently evaluate.

Is it right for you?

Good for

  • Unified multimodal generation — video, audio, images, and action prediction from one shared architecture trained jointly across all modalities
  • Native synchronized audio in video generation — dialogue, SFX, and music generated in the same pass as the video, not bolted on later
  • Robotics action prediction via FLUX-mimic — deployed at Audi for soft-body manipulation tasks with ~10x sample efficiency over prior approaches

Not good for

  • Production video pipelines requiring published pricing, SLAs, and a public API — none exist as of launch
  • Open-weight deployment today — FLUX 3 Dev multimodal backbone is planned for later 2026 but unreleased; only gated early access available
  • Text or code generation — this is a visual intelligence model for creative media and robotics, not an LLM
