# Grok Bot Is Open to Eight SuperGrok and Cursor Tiers, but Has No Published Price

xAI's announcement page lists eight SuperGrok and Cursor tiers with Grok Bot access, not the three premium plans our entry described. The catch: it publishes no price for Grok Bot and meters its usage separately from your Grok and Cursor plan. Our verdict stays conditional, for a corrected reason.

**Verdict: [Grok Bot](/directory/grok-bot) stays conditional, but for a different reason.** Our entry previously said it was gated behind expensive subscriptions; xAI's page says otherwise. It is cheap to reach and impossible to budget: xAI lists eight paid tiers with access, publishes no price for Grok Bot itself, and meters its usage separately from the plan you already pay for.

## What happened

Our directory entry previously said Grok Bot was gated behind $120-300/mo subscriptions. xAI's own announcement page, dated August 11, 2026 and re-checked by us on October 3, 2026, does not support that, and we have corrected the entry.

The page states Grok Bot "is in beta" and is available "for SuperGrok, SuperGrok Plus, and SuperGrok Heavy; Cursor Pro, Pro+, and Ultra; and Cursor Teams Standard and Premium subscribers on desktop and iOS".

| | Our entry previously said | xAI's page says |
|---|---|---|
| Tiers with access | 3 (top plans only) | 8, including entry-level plans on both product lines |
| Grok Bot price | Gated behind $120-300/mo plans | None published |
| Usage billing | Not stated | Separate from your Grok and Cursor plans |

On billing, the page is explicit: "Grok Bot comes with its own usage, separate from your Grok and Cursor plans, so anything you hand off to a Bot won't count against your existing usage." Enterprise users get waitlist access rather than immediate availability.

## Why it matters

The obvious read is that Grok Bot is now cheap. The accurate read is that the cost of running it cannot be known from anything xAI has published.

- **What our entry used to say:** a premium subscription with a published price, so you could bound the cost.
- **What the page says:** the door is cheaper and the room behind it is unpriced. The page gives no rate for Grok Bot usage, and that usage sits outside the plan you already pay for.
- **Risk unchanged:** Bots "share a computer of their own in the cloud" and "can sign in and work across apps, tools, and websites". An agent holding live credentials to your inbox, billing and repositories, on a meter nobody has published, is harder to model than a fixed-price subscription, not easier.

We record that as a condition, not a downgrade. The rating stays **conditional**; only the stated condition changes.

## What changes for you

1. **Check your plan.** If you pay for any of the eight named SuperGrok or Cursor tiers, you can likely turn Grok Bot on today.
2. **Keep it away from anything financial or production-critical.** The credential threat model is still undocumented.
3. **Measure before you commit.** Run a low-stakes task and watch what the separate usage meter does. With no published rate, measurement is the only estimate available.
