Anthropic released Claude 4.6 Opus with a 1M-token context window, improved agentic coding, and extended thinking — at unchanged per-token pricing.

The practical impact is on document-heavy workflows: contract review, codebase analysis, and research synthesis that previously required chunking pipelines can now run in a single pass.

Our document-analysis verdict is under re-test. Retrieval pipelines still win on cost for high-volume workloads, but the convenience threshold has moved.
